Maciej Chmielewski, a lecturer at the University of Warsaw, will lead the discussion “Timeless, sustainable, innovative – how to create a distinctive business?”. The introduction to the discussion noted that in today’s dynamic world, creating a distinctive business requires an approach that combines timelessness, innovation and sustainable development. A timeless business is based on solid foundations that will survive changing market trends, offering products and services of lasting value. Conducting business in a responsible manner, caring for the natural environment and community, is becoming increasingly important in the eyes of consumers, while an innovative approach allows for the introduction of innovative solutions that meet changing market needs and distinguish the company from the competition. The combination of these elements creates a strong, recognizable brand that will not only stand the test of time, but will also set directions in its industry. The invitation to discuss this topic was accepted by: Ákos Kozák, co-founder and director of business relations at Equilibrium Institute from Hungary, Ryszard Machoj, member of the board for sales and logistics at Lidl Polska, Agnieszka Olszewska, vice-president, acting president of the Public Procurement Office, Łukasz Rut, development director of the Regional Center for Technology and Knowledge Interior, and Maciej Seliński, vice-president and general manager Poland, Ukraine and Baltics, LEGO Polska.
Paweł Minkina, editor-in-chief of the “Bank Miesięcznik Finansowy” magazine, will moderate the discussion “Cashless Europe – are we ready?”. COVID-19 was a big shock for society, not only in terms of health – indicate the organizers of the debate. During the pandemic, information appeared in the media that paying with cash is dangerous and that it is safer to pay cashless. The importance of paying without cash is increasingly being discussed. Supporters of this type of payment claim that it is safer, more convenient and will ensure better tax collection. However, critics see this procedure as an opportunity to take complete control over society in all areas of life. The discussion will be attended by: Simon Anko, director of the payment and settlement systems department of the Bank of Slovenia, Tejmuraz Chomeriki, member of the board of the National Bank of Georgia, Rafał Witold Górski, president of the board of the Institute of Civil Affairs Foundation, Peter Kremský, former member of the Slovak Parliament, prof. Bogusław Półtorak, Vice-Dean for Education at the Wrocław University of Economics, and Artur Soboń, Member of the Management Board of the National Bank of Poland.
The XXXIII Economic Forum will be held in Karpacz on September 3–5.
