Our interlocutor, who actively participated in the annual event organized by the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce, argues that due to relatively high interest rates on the Polish market, this solution is particularly attractive. – We are talking about an interest rate of 2 percent. per year, or even 1.5 percent when certain conditions are met – he explains. – The scope of goals for which this type of support can be used is very wide – from investment matters, i.e. investments on the Polish side needed to trade or deliver products to Ukraine, to operational needs, i.e. rotational credit for Polish companies. This financing is definitely cheaper than market – says Bartosz Kublik.
Reconstruction of Ukraine as a chance for Polish companies
As the president of BOŚ explains, many Polish companies are already cooperating with Ukrainian enterprises. – It’s several hundred, maybe even a thousand companies that know the Ukrainian market very well. This is due to the fact that they have been present there for years – says the president of BOŚ. In his opinion, these loans are first addressed to them. – This, however, does not exclude that in the future – when the risk associated with cooperation, investing and implementation of contracts in Ukraine will decrease – this project will be expanded to a wider group of enterprises – says Bartosz Kublik.
– We all want to believe that this will happen soon – that this project and the related loan will be available to a much wider group of clients in Poland. However, I think that today we have strong enough business relationships with Ukraine to run and develop this program effectively – he adds.
Green transformation of Ukraine: Ukrainians will have to diversify their energy sources
The President of the Board of BOŚ also talked about the challenges related to the green transformation of Ukraine. – Kyiv will have to diversify and distract his energy sources. This is not only an ESG and pro -ecological transformation, but above all security – says Bartosz Kublik.
In his opinion, this country has enormous potential in the field of renewable energy sources. It also has a strong sector of agribusiness, comparable to Polish, which can provide raw materials to the production of biogas and even biomethane. – In this context, Bank Ochrony Środowiska, which has extensive experience in financing this type of projects, can play an important role. In Poland, this bank has credited pro -ecological investments with a total value of nearly PLN 40 billion. In addition, we have the opportunity to share our know -how with Ukrainian partners from the banking sector – sums up the president of BOŚ.
