Florencio Sánchez, director of the Focus Noticias portal, spoke with ‘Vicky en SEMANA’. He did so after the aforementioned site published the full video of the stylist Mauricio Leal minutes before he died. Previously, ‘Noticias Caracol’ published the same video, but shorter, a fundamental situation that changes the context regarding what could have happened in that mansion in La Calera, in Cundinamarca.

“I spoke to Dr. Mario Burgos yesterday and he assured me that he never knew about that video, he never knew about that test, that the technician who did the investigative work and who made the mirror copy never mentioned that video to him. I spoke to the technician last night and the technician did not want to tell me if he knew or not. He only told me that he did not have authorization and that he was not going to speak to the media,” he added.
Sánchez explained why the Leal’s detained half-brother, Carlos Andrés García Hernández, ended up claiming Mauricio Leal’s iPhone, from which these unpublished images came. “Carlos Andrés, who is in prison in Jamundí (Valle del Cauca) for rape. That is where the information is. He is in prison for raping a minor, he is Mauricio and Jhonier’s half-brother. Since the process is already over, Jhonier has already been convicted, so everything that has been collected, which belonged to Mauricio, must be returned to him because it was already discussed in the trial. So, the natural heir is the half-brother because Jhonier is unworthy as an heir because he killed him,” he explained.
“He is not selling the recordings, he is selling the cell phone, a state-of-the-art iPhone. Since he is in prison, he sends power to the lawyer to claim it and the lawyer is the one who finds these videos. I did not get the video from Jhonier Leal’s lawyers, I got it from another source,” he added, explaining that this unpublished material was always on Mauricio Leal’s iPhone, a device that his detained brother claimed from prison.

Sánchez confirmed who currently has Mauricio’s cell phone, on which the terrifying recording was stored. The judicial journalist said that, as far as he knows, the cell phone is in Jamundí, Valle del Cauca.
