Enea buys a wind farm and develops renewable energy sources

Luc Williams

The company Enea Nowa Energia finalized Purchase of a wind farm with a total power of 83.2 MW, located in the Pelplin commune in the Pomeranian Voivodeship. It consists of 16 wind turbines with a capacity of 5.2 MW each and a power station (GPZ, main power point), ensuring direct connection to the network. The turbines were produced by Siemens Games, one of the world leaders of wind technologies.

Farm location that is the subject of a transaction approx. 50 km from the Baltic Sea coastprovides very good windy conditions, translating into the high efficiency of electricity production.

RESE Important element of the strategy

The investment is part of the ENEA group development strategy by 2035, assuming a dynamic increase in installed power in renewable energy sources. The project in the Pelplin commune is another step towards achieving the goal, which is to achieve over 4.9 GW power from renewable energy.

We perceive energy transformation as an opportunity not only for the development of the ENEA groupbut also to increase Poland’s energy security and improve the quality of life of current and future generations. Our development strategy until 2035 is a response to the dynamically changing market and social environment. We focus on green energy, innovations and modern technologies that will allow us to become a more flexible and modern energy group. Investments in wind farms, such as the one in Pelplin, is a specific step towards achieving our goals – increasing the power installed in renewable energy, diversification of the energy mix and building values for our clients, shareholders and the whole society – said Grzegorz Kinelski, president of Enea.

Greenvolt Power is a developer of large -scale wind, photovoltaic and energy storage.

In Poland, the Greenvolt group portfolio includes 706 MW of wind energy, 1581 MW of solar energy and 1760 MW of energy storage.

The ENEA Group will allocate nearly PLN 107.5 billion for the implementation of strategic goalsof which the largest part will be invested in the development of renewable energy, energy storage as well as the development and modernization of distribution networks.

– The takeover of the wind farm in Pelplin is a strategic step in implementing our vision of development. This investment is fully consistent with our obligation to develop sustainable green energy sources, which are the foundation of our long -term strategy. The wind farm purchased from Greenvolt Power is a valuable complement to our portfolio of RES projects, supports the development of the renewable energy sector in Poland and strengthens the role of Enea in the transformation of the domestic energy market – commented Bartosz Krysta, Vice President of ENEI commercial affairs.

Wide range of green transformation

In 2024, the ENEA Group produced almost 20.4 TWh of electricity, increasing production from renewable energy sources by approx. 28 percent.

Investment outlays reached nearly PLN 3.4 billion. In the group, 14 MW of power came in solar farms (PV Żary, PV Nowiny Wielkie and PV Darżyno I).

A 1.29 GW portfolio of RES and energy warehouses has also been prepared for implementation in subsequent years.

At the beginning of 2025, the group However, she doubled her wind powers, purchasing six farms with a total power of 83.5 MW. Modern installations, located in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, were purchased from European Energy.

An element of the green transformation of the ENEA group is also the launch of a new business line, thanks to the Enea Eko company created in 2024. Its task is to develop energy efficiency throughout the group and products and services based on energy efficiency analysis. It offers efficiency and energy transformation services to enterprises and local government units.
