WOLT: Sale of flowers with fast delivery in 2025 increased on Valentine’s Day almost 18 times!
Data shows that Poles are increasingly spending Valentine’s Day at home, willingly using fast deliveries. Wolt users placed up to 89% more purchases with delivery compared to the usual February day. Flowers, whose sales increased by as much as 1760%, enjoyed high popularity.
The growing popularity of purchases and meals with quick delivery fits into the growing trend of celebrating Valentine’s Day at home. According to the Provident barometer, every fifth Pole (17.5%) chooses a joint evening with his favorite movie or series.
The average expenditure on Valentine’s Day also increases – in 2025 Poles planned to spend PLN 290 on them, while a year earlier it was PLN 165.
Valentine’s Day, like other unique occasions, are associated with an increase in interest in meals with delivery every year. Poles value convenience and the ability to focus on celebrating your time more and more.
During this year’s festival of lovers, the number of orders from restaurants to volt increased by 38% compared to other February days. We observe that these are usually meals ordered around 16:00 for a romantic dinner.
– This year, as in the previous one, premium dishes, such as sushi and seafood, enjoyed great interest – comments Kamil Czarnecki, head of restaurant development at Wolt Polska.
Desserts remain an integral part of the celebration of Valentine’s Day.
Last year, the most popular was a pistachio donut, whose sales increased by 700%. On Valentine’s Day 2025 Hearts (and palate) customers conquered premium desserts – mousses with vanilla bourbun or chocolate ganache.
Flowers have come for flowers with delivery
One of the biggest hits this year, however, turned out to be flowers – orders in florists increased by as much as 1760% relative to other February days.
Although in 2024 they also enjoyed great interest, this year Wolt users ordered them twice as much. Poles also eagerly ordered jewelry (increased orders by more than 3000% relative to other February days) and cosmetics (orders increase by 520%).
This year’s Valentine’s Day was also the first in which Wolt users could use the Gifting function – enabling sending gifts with delivery to a loved one, even if he lives in another city. Importantly, the recipient does not have to have a volt account. In this category, flowers and orders from restaurants were the most popular. Placing the Gifting function is a response to the growing demand of users in quick and convenient ways to give loved ones.
– Thanks to this option, we allow you to send gifts with a few clicks, regardless of the place and occasion. This is the next Wolt step towards building more intuitive and flexible solutions that support relationships and simplify the everyday life of our users. – says Agata Polityło, general director at Wolt Polska.
The growing interest in fast supplies on Valentine’s Day shows that the celebration method is evolving – Poles are increasingly choosing comfort and flexibility. Everything indicates that this trend will continue to develop.
