My Electricity 6.0
According to the document published by the Ministry of Climate and Environment, a mandatory requirement for co-financing from the Mój Prąd 6.0 program for photovoltaic micro-installations reported for connection to the grid after August 1, 2024 will be to connect an energy storage to the PV as an additional element. In such a case, the co-financing will amount to PLN 7,000 for micro-installations with a capacity of 2 to 20 kW and PLN 16,000 if the additional element is an electricity storage, and PLN 5,000 – if it is a heat storage. The capacity of the energy storage reported for co-financing should be at least one and a half times the power per 1 watt of peak photovoltaic power.
A necessary condition for funding will be the settlement of micro-installations in the net-billing system. For micro-installations connected during the period of validity of the previous net metering system, i.e. before April 1, 2022, the condition for obtaining funding for an additional device, i.e. a heat or electricity storage, will be the transition to the net-billing system – according to the document.
Various devices that can be submitted for funding may qualify as photovoltaic micro-installations. These include: PV micro-installations consisting of photovoltaic panels on the roofs of buildings or on ground structures together with an inverter enabling the charging of an energy storage device, or charging of an energy storage device and operation in island mode; PV micro-installations consisting of photovoltaic panels with micro-inverters; carports or canopies for cars additionally covered with photovoltaic panels and similar structures containing PV cells; awnings consisting of PV cells, i.e. balcony or entrance canopies that produce electricity, roof coverings with a photovoltaic function – e.g. photovoltaic roof tiles; photovoltaic balcony sets; other devices approved for use in Poland. All of these photovoltaic installations must be connected to the electricity grid.
The total capacity of all RES installations owned by a prosumer, including the photovoltaic micro-installation and energy storage, cannot exceed 50 kW.
Energy storage
For PV micro-installations reported for connection by 31 July 2024, an energy or heat storage as an additional device is not a necessary condition for obtaining funding. For micro-installations with a capacity of 2 to 10 kW, the funding will amount to PLN 6,000. If it is accompanied by a storage as an additional element, the funding will amount to PLN 7,000 for PV and PLN 16,000 for an electricity storage and PLN 5,000 for a heat storage.
As noted Ministry of Climate and Environment, The application process for the Mój Prąd 6.0 programme is scheduled to begin on 2 September 2024 and will last until 20 December or until the budget of PLN 400 million from the FEnIKS programme for 2021-2027 is exhausted.
As part of the subsequent editions of the My Electricity program, over 530,000 PV micro-installations were co-financed in Poland – the Ministry of Culture and Environment reminded. (PAP)
