Safety is the topic of the fall edition of HORIZON

The autumn debate “Horizon: Security Strategies” will take place on November 4 at the headquarters of Employers of Poland. It was divided into several thematic blocks. In the first one, titled “Economic security: economics, development, regulations”, the panelists will try to answer, among others: to the questions to what extent regulatory stability can be the foundation of economic security; what is the role of foreign investment in building economic security; how Poland can effectively adapt its economy to dynamically changing global conditions and what is the role of international partnerships, cooperation with the EU and the impact of the geopolitical situation on the country’s economic development.

In the second panel devoted to defense and contemporary security challenges, the discussion will concern Poland’s role in NATO and the EU in the context of the conflict in Ukraine, threats of cyberattacks, sabotage, disinformation and how to strengthen the economic potential of our country through the arms industry.

In turn, in the panel “Development security: industry and investments vs. climate and environment”, the discussion will concern the role of renewable energy and energy transformation, also in the context of challenges related to our dependence on fossil fuels; sustainable economic development and climate protection; adaptation of the industrial sector to climate change, as well as the place of the state and public institutions in supporting green investments.

The debates and speeches will be attended by deputy ministers from the Ministry of Development and Technology, the Ministry of Climate and Environment, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Finance, as well as voivodes: Mariusz Frankowski – representing Mazovia and Radosław Król – Warmia and Mazury.

Leaders of the business community and experts will also have an important say in the debate, including: Witold Literacki – Vice-President of the Management Board for Corporate Affairs, first deputy president of the ORLEN Management Board, Luiz Hanania – General Director, President of the Management Board of the Veolia Group in Poland, prof. Ph.D. Michał Romanowski – Partner and Attorney at the Law Firm Romanowski i Wspólnicy sp. k., Tomasz Marciniak – Managing Partner, McKinsey&Company, Dariusz Kolasa – Member of the Management Board at STRABAG, Andrzej Zwara – Attorney and Senior Partner at the Law Firm Głuchowski Siemiątkowski Zwara Advocates and Legal Advisors, Łukasz Dziekoński – Chairman of the VC/PE team in the Council of Polish Entrepreneurs and Employers RP and Łukasz Łazarewicz – President of the Management Board of the Association of Employers of the Entertainment and Gaming Industry.

The event will be hosted by Wioleta Wramba – journalist and presenter of TVP INFO, and the moderators of the debates will be prof. Agnieszka Bieńczyk-Missala from the University of Warsaw, Julia Cydejko from Polityka Insight and Karolina Jędrzejewska from Polsat News.
