Last Friday, November 1, the Colombian Institute for Educational Evaluation (Icfes) published the results of the more than 600,000 calendar A students who took the Saber 11 tests, one of the most important exams required by the State. , which can be key for the person’s future in relation to education.
There was one name that caught the attention and became very popular: Valeria Díaz González, the student who got the best national score. It is part of the Nuestra Señora del Rosario School, located in the city of Floridablanca, in the department of Santander.
At only 16 years old, the young woman stole everyone’s attention after achieving a score of 495 out of 500, something for which he had to put a lot of effort into studying at home and at the same institution. Díaz González highlighted that the support he received from the school was one of the keys to this great result.
“The school gave me a lot of support because they gave us an intensive pre-ICFE training during classes and that helped me a lot,” He stated in dialogue with the station.
In addition, she explained that she also took the course separately, which helped her be better prepared for the state tests. “In addition, I took a pre-ICFE course at the La Merced headquarters, which also helped me a lot to have all the bases that I collected throughout this time,” he noted.
Added to this, another factor was his autonomy; he decided to prepare by watching online videos and studying different documents separately, which also benefited him when taking the exam. Likewise, she highlighted that she had confidence in herself and faced the test with great calm, trusting in God and making his family very proud.
The young woman has a very clear vision of what she wants to do when she leaves school, something she talks about with great passion and into which she will put all her effort, always at the service of others. “I want to be a biomedical engineer because my dream has always been to create prototypes to help people, especially in the field of oncology and genetics,” said in
Diana González Sánchez, her mother, revealed that they burst into tears with her husband when they found out that their daughter had achieved the best Icfes result at the national level, something that she herself told them after also shedding some tears, which in His moment made them worry.
“She came to the room crying, our feeling was fear, we thought something bad had happened to her because she started to shake. “When he said what happened with 495, we couldn’t believe it, the three of us hugged each other and cried,” he stated to the aforementioned medium.
José Fernando Sánchez, mayor of the aforementioned municipality, congratulated Valeria for this great achievement and announced that they would recognize her, as well as five other students who also obtained very good scores. And it is no wonder, because thanks to these results, Floridablanca was the best city in the entire country in the results of the Saber 11 tests.
“We are going to recognize both the educational institution and Valeria and, in the same way, five more classmates who obtained an outstanding score in these tests,” the official explained.
