Faulty drive inverters
According to information published by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Tesla recalls 2,431 Cybertruck vehicles produced from the beginning of November last year to July.
The purpose of the service action is: replacement of faulty drive inverters. A component failure may occur deprive drivers of the ability to use torque using the accelerator pedal and increase the risk of collisions. If this failure occurs, drivers will be forced to pull over to the side of the road, stop the car and wait for roadside assistance.
Tesla will begin replacing driver inverters around December 9 at no cost to customersas all affected vehicles are under warranty.
Previous failures were more costly
Tesla has notified the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that it is potentially involved 2,431 vehicles. The current recall is a fraction of the September recall. At that time, 27,185 Cybertrucks required repair. Due to a previous defect, images from the semi-truck’s backup cameras did not display correctly after the driver engaged reverse gear. The automaker also recalled its pickup truck for other problems, including poorly glued trim and faulty accelerator pedals.
