The program of this year’s Running Festival in Piwniczna-Zdrój is very rich, runners will compete in as many as 20 distances. Everyone will find something for themselves. The program includes, among others, the Lachów i Górali Run, the Tie Run and the High Heels Run, Nordic Walking competitions, races for children in various age categories, as well as a half marathon, the 7 Valleys Runs and the three-day Iron Run competition.
Those interested in taking part can register for any race up to 30 minutes before its start. The exception is the 7 Valleys 100 km Run – due to the early start time, at 2:00 on Saturday, September 7, registration is required no later than Friday, September 6. The event in Piwniczna-Zdrój will be held with an international line-up. “The 100 km run at the Running Festival will be my last preparatory mountain race before the Diagonale des Fous on Reunion Island (175 km) in October 2024,” says Stéphane Micillino, who will be racing in Poland for the first time. The runner from France has been regularly competing in ultramarathon and cross-country mountain races for two years.
An additional field of competition will be the races within the Polish Masters Championships. – Masters are competitors who are over 30 years of age and are registered with the Masters Association. The Polish Championships will take place in the Sądecka Dysze NEWAG, the Half Marathon and the 7 Valleys 100 km Run – explains Marek Tokarczyk, sports director of the Running Festival.

As the organizers emphasize, regardless of taking part in selected competitions, running enthusiasts and entire families will be able to relax on several hectares of beautifully developed terrain of the Running Town in the charming bend of the Poprad River.
Last year, the town was visited by almost 12 thousand people. There will be many attractions. The culinary experience will be provided by the Festival of Taste of regional dishes, and there will also be a folk Festival of Lachs and Highlanders, during which folk bands from all over the region will perform, as well as guests from other Carpathian countries. Attractions, including for the youngest, and equipment for runners will be provided by dozens of partners.

It is worth adding that anyone who completes a run of at least 10 kilometres (there will be as many as nine) during the Running Festival will take part in a car draw on the last day, as every year, funded by the Koral company, which also provides runners with free ice cream. An additional condition: the winner must be present at the stage when the car draw result is announced.
