The latest survey, conducted by the National Consulting Center (CNC), showed that Juan Manuel Galán, director of Nuevo Liberalismo, had a rebound and leads the voting intention for the next presidential electionswhich will take place in 2026.
In light of these preliminary results, the former senator spoke exclusively with and assured that it is still too early to talk about a possible candidacy. However, he pointed out that the Casa de Nariño is not indifferent to him.
The director of Nuevo Liberalismo also took advantage of the conversation with this media outlet to refer to the latest statements by President Gustavo Petro, pointing out that the current state of the president is very “delirious.” In addition, he pointed out that there is a lot of concern about his recent actions.
“Delusional, I can’t think of another word to describe the current state of the President of the Republic. What he is showing and communicating is delusional. He is constantly talking about conspiracies and enemies, about soft and hard blows. Now we are already on the path to assassinating him,” he added.
Then he sentenced: “This seems like an attempt to divert attention. He is acting like this because they are investigating his campaign, because they are finding out if the allegations that have been made are true. Now that the president wants to confuse that with coups and attacks, that’s another thing.”
Galán also pointed out that the position taken by the Colombian head of state with regard to Venezuela is rather lukewarm. Finally, he stressed that at this moment he is focused on the national convention that the New Liberalism will hold in Cartagena, on November 29 and 30.
