Lack of effective anti-smoking state policy

As the author of the article in “GW” emphasizes, “this is not a story about the power of tobacco companies.” “This a story about the weakness of a state that has been unable to develop an effective anti-smoking policy for years. This inertia created mud in which flatworms and leeches live. And aggressive dragonfly nymphs, which are ruthless when hunting to defend their interests,” says the newspaper.

“Lobbyists and politicians are splashing around in the pond, shouting ‘and now we will regulate the mud.’ classes in our country,” emphasizes “GW”.

Tobacco-free tea inserts

The newspaper points out that “tobacco-free cartridges, e.g. nicotine tea”, may soon conquer the market. “But what about tea? In tobacco-free cartridges, instead of tobacco, there is, for example, a mixture of rooibos tea soaked in nicotine and other flavor additives” – explains the author of the article.

He also states that “today, nicotine tea accounts for approximately 7 percent of cartridge sales, which is still not much compared to the entire market.” “There is potential, however. They are sold by two tobacco companies: British American Tobacco (99% of the market) and Imperial Tobacco,” the newspaper reveals.

“The EU directive does not prohibit the sale of flavored tobacco-free cartridges (with nicotine tea), because tea is not tobacco,” one of the market participants tells GW. (PAP)
