Biedronka will freeze gross prices of PLN 4,000. products from April, despite the increase in the VAT rate on food to 5%. from 0 percent, the network reported.
“In accordance with applicable law, from April this year, the standard VAT rate of 5% for selected categories of food products returns. However, Biedronka customers will pay the same amount for them as in March, because the chain will maintain regular gross prices. The exception here will be primarily bread, in particular from small local suppliers, as well as vegetables and fruit, the prices of which change on an ongoing basis due to the dependence on the growing season,” we read in the announcement.
