Tauron announces a competition for the president and three vice-presidents

As Tauron announced in a statement sent on Tuesday afternoon, the company’s supervisory board announced the qualification procedure for the positions of president of the management board, vice-president for finance, vice-president for trade and vice-president for asset management and development. The deadline for submitting applications is February 26 this year. Job interviews will take place from February 29 to March 4, 2024.

Earlier in the afternoon, Tauron announced that its supervisory board had adopted resolutions to dismiss: the company’s president Paweł Szczeszek, vice-president for strategy and development Patryk Demski, vice-president for asset management Bogusław Rybacki, vice-president for trade Tomasz Szczegielniak and vice-president for corporate affairs Artur Warzocha . No reasons for the cancellation were given. Krzysztof Surma, vice president for finance, remained in his position.

At the same time, the supervisory board adopted a resolution on delegating, from February 14, 2024, member of the supervisory board, Karolina Mucha-Kuś, to temporarily perform the duties of the president – until the date of appointment of the new president, but within no longer than three months from the date of delegation.

Karolina Mucha-Kuś became a member of the supervisory board of Tauron on January 25 this year. As the company announced on Tuesday, she is a doctor of economic sciences, a graduate of doctoral studies at the Faculty of Management of the University of Economics in Katowice. She completed postgraduate studies in nuclear energy and the natural gas market at the AGH University of Science and Technology.

The new acting president of Tauron has been associated with the energy industry since 2007. She has experience in implementing projects and investments in the energy sector, including in the areas of distribution and trade (at Vattenfall and Tauron). In the years 2018-23 she worked in public administration: she headed the projects and investments department of the Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis.

Karolina Mucha-Kuś was appointed to the Supervisory Board of Tauron on January 25 this year. on behalf of the Ministry of State Assets, together with Natalia Klima-Piotrowska, Katarzyna Masłowska and Sławomir Smyczek. Dariusz Hryniów, Ryszard Madziar, Piotr Tutak and Marcin Wawrzyniak were then dismissed.

Another change in the company’s supervisory board took place on February 5, when the State Treasury dismissed Teresa Famulska and appointed Piotr Leonard Kołodziej.

In the shareholder structure of Tauron Polska Energia, the State Treasury has 30.06 percent. votes, KGHM Polska Miedź (a company controlled by the State Treasury) 10.39 percent, Nationale Nederlanden 5.06 percent, and other shareholders 54.49 percent. votes.

Tauron Polska Energia produces, distributes and sells energy. Since 2010, the company has been listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, among others. in the WIG20 and WIG30 indices.
