On Tuesday, Orlen announced in a press release that, as of May 1, the company's supervisory board had appointed Magdalena Bartoś to the company's management board as vice-president for finance, Robert Soszyński as vice-president for strategy and sustainable development, and Wiesław Prugar as member of the management board for upstream. The announcement stated that the appointments concern “the joint term of office of the Management Board, which ends on the date of the Ordinary General Meeting approving the Company's financial statements for 2025.”

The company also announced that at the same time the supervisory board dismissed Józef Węgrecki from the position of member of the Orlen management board at the end of April 30, 2024.

Who are the members of Orlen's new management board?

Magdalena Bartoś, as we read in Orlen's announcement, in the years 2019-2023 she worked as a member of the management board of WAG payment solutions as, where she was responsible, among other things, for preparing and conducting the stock exchange debut of the Eurowag Group on the London Stock Exchange. In 2017-2018, she served as a member of the management board of Paged, and in 2014-2016, she worked as the managing director for economic and financial affairs at PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna. Previously, she worked at Enea Operator and Nike Poland as financial director, and in 2009-2012 she was a member of the management board and financial director of the Zelmer Group. In the years 2007-2009, in the Orlen Group, she was responsible for the integration of the finance area after the acquisition of the Mažeikiai refinery and served as deputy financial director of Mazeikiu Nafta, responsible for the areas of accounting, reporting and financial planning. Magdalena Bartoś is a graduate of the Faculty of Management at the Poznań University of Economics. She also completed a series of ACCA exams and postgraduate studies in business cooperation with Africa.

Robert Soszyński in 2008, he served as president of the management board of CIECH Service, in 2008-2011, he was president of the management board of PERN Przyjaźń, and he was also vice-president of the management board of Polskie LNG in 2015. In the years 2018-21 he served as deputy president of the capital city of Warsaw. He is a graduate of, among others: Warsaw University of Technology (faculty of technical physics and applied mathematics) and MBA studies at the University of Gdańsk.

Wiesław Prugar, according to information provided by Orlen, has been associated with the industry since 1987, including: with the Oil and Gas Institute, Gazomontaż, Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo and Orlen. Member of many industry organizations. A long-time member of the Advisory Board of the Energy and Geoscience Institute at the University of Utah, specializing, among others, in innovative solutions for the Oil and Gas industry. As an advisor, he co-created Trend Energy Solutions investments in the field of low-emission generation sources and renewable energy. He graduated from the AGH University of Science and Technology. S. Staszic in Kraków, where he also obtained his Ph.D. He is also a graduate of postgraduate studies at the Gliwice University of Technology and the Warsaw School of Economics.

Last week, Orlen's supervisory board elected Ireneusz Fąfara as the new president. Witold Literacki became vice president for corporate affairs and first deputy president.
