Another edition of Cybersec Expo & Forum is ahead of us. What makes this year’s event unique compared to previous years?
Łukasz Gawron, President of the Board of the First Cluster of Cyber security in Poland #CYBERMADEINPOLAND / Press materials / Marcin Binkiewicz
First of all, this is the jubilee edition – We are meeting for the twentieth time, and the Cybersec brand has been on the market for a decade. This shows that we are recognizable and valued in the cyber security environment. This year, we focus particularly on business issues, building relationships, supporting innovation and cooperation between public administration and the private sector. The agenda will include topics related to digital sovereignty, shortening of supply chains and strategic autonomy within the European Union. We want participants to not only gain knowledge, but also realistically influence the development of the industry.
What news did you have prepared for participants of this edition?
We always try to introduce something new. This year we offer a wide selection of practical workshops, including regarding the implementation of EU regulations, such as NIG 2, the Act on the National Cybersecurity System or the upcoming Cyber Resilience Act. The workshops are conducted by both our partners and industry experts, and their topics include both legal and technical aspects. Thanks to this, the event is attractive for both beginners and experienced IT specialists and people looking for business contacts.
Patronage of the Polish Presidency
Who can be found among speakers and participants?
Cybersec is an international event. We host representatives of the private sector – from large European and global companies, through Polish enterprises, to startups. There will be representatives of public administration, army and services responsible for state security. The speakers will include both experts from the European Commission and practitioners from the Central Bureau of Cybercrime or Ambassadors of Ciso. The participants are security directors, network administrators, IT specialists and persons responsible for technology development in companies and institutions.
The event is international?
Definitely yes. The Cybersec brand is recognizable outside of Poland, which is why we attract guests from all over Europe and outside of Europe every year. This is not only an opportunity to exchange experiences at the national level, but also the possibility of establishing relationships with partners from other markets. This year, under the patronage of the Polish Presidency in the EU Council, we particularly emphasize the role of Poland and the region in building European technological sovereignty.
Cybersec are not only lectures and panels. What networking options do you offer to participants?
Networking is the essence of our event. In addition to official meetings at partners’ stands or in the Expo zone, we organize accompanying events such as Cybersecurity Business Mixer. Participants have at their disposal a dedicated Matchmaking tool, which allows you to make an appointment and optimize time spent at the conference. We focus on exchanging knowledge, but above all on building lasting business relationships – both in the official and less formal formula during crutual meetings.
What is the program of this year’s conference in terms of the number of panels, speakers and the scale of the event?
This year, we invited nearly 100 speakers, and over 100 partners and exhibitors will present their solutions in the Expo space. There will be about eight discussion panels, but we focus on a dynamic formula: short, 20-minute presentations, strong speeches and so-called Fireside Chaty. We want the event to be modern and engaging, and participants can maximize time to gain knowledge and contacts.
What successes can you mention when looking at previous editions of Cybersc?
The biggest success is to build a recognizable, international knowledge and networking exchange platform in the area of cyber security. Our partners and exhibitors appreciate the possibility of meeting people from various sectors – from technical specialists, through persons responsible for compatibility and regulations, to managers and decision -makers. We have received signals many times that thanks to Cybersec managed to establish key business partnerships that resulted in joint projects. This event is unique in Central and Eastern Europe, and Poland has become an important point on the map of the region’s cyber security.
Challenges of cybersecurity
What challenges and trends dominate today in the cyber security industry?
In recent years, we have been observing a dynamic increase in threats – From phishing, through data leaks, to ransomware attacks. Companies are investing more and more in data protection and infrastructure, as well as in advanced cloud solutions. At the same time, the demand for qualified specialists is growing, and the outsourcing of cyber security services is becoming more and more popular. Geopolitical challenges, such as building European digital sovereignty, also gain importance. Cybersec responds to these needs, offering space for discussions about the latest regulations, technologies and industry practices.
Why should you take part in Cybersec 2025?
This is a unique opportunity to gain current knowledge, learn the latest technologies and solutions, and above all make contacts that can result in the future. Regardless of whether someone is just starting their adventure with cyber security or an experienced expert, he will find something for themselves. Cybersec is a place where visions, technologies and people meet who together build a safe digital future of Europe.
