Solorz: It is not true that any court blocked my assets

“First of all, it is not true that any court has blocked my assets. Secondly, what the media is writing about today is nothing new, it happened already at the end of October. Thirdly, I still fully control and supervise my companies, including: including serving as chairman of the supervisory board,” Solorz emphasized.
Dispute in the Solorz family
As reported by “Parkiet”, on Tuesday the prices of the Polsat Plus Group (Cyfrowy Polsat) fell due to new information about a dispute in the family of the founder – Zygmunt Solorz. According to Wood & Company analyst Piotr Raciborski, quoted by the newspaper, investors reacted in this way to the reports of Wyborcza.pl and Onet.pl. They reported in the morning that the parties to the dispute hid an important – according to journalists – fact. The point is that in October, a court in Liechtenstein introduced a curator to the board of two foundations founded by Zygmunt Solorz, including the TiVi Foundation, which indirectly holds shares of Cyfrowy Polsat. The authors of the texts assessed that Zygmunt Solorz lost the ability to control his property.
“The companies are located in foundations in Liechtenstein. And there are court proceedings pending in Liechtenstein regarding the foundations that I founded. The dispute, in short, comes down to who controls the Foundation Council. I am the founder of the foundation and I contributed some of the companies that belong to me,” Solorz wrote in a statement.
On October 26, the court in Liechtenstein issued an interim order for the duration of the proceedings regarding the foundation. The court appointed the so-called guardian ad litem (instead of another lawyer from Liechtenstein who was on the Foundation Council), who became the chairman of the Foundation Council. He also decided that, apart from the chairman, the members of the Foundation’s Council include – as they have for several years – Tomasz Szeląg and Katarzyna Tomczuk. As has been the case for several months, there are three people on the Council, he explained.
“Based on long-established safeguards, neither I nor my children have the right to make changes to the Foundation Council or to change the foundation’s statutes. And that’s all. The situation in which changes cannot be made to the Foundation Council has been going on since September and has aimed at maintaining the status quo,” Solorz pointed out.
“Recently, the boards of both of my foundations – now with a new curator – adopted a resolution to pay me, as the first-degree beneficiary in both foundations, dividends from the foundation, which was implemented. Moreover, the boards of the foundations took the position that I remain the actual beneficiary of both foundations, entered into the register of beneficiaries. A number of stakeholders were informed about the above position. And this is most likely the reason for the somewhat nervous reactions and media activities of my children and their numerous lawyers advisors,” he concluded.
Cyfrowy Polsat and Polkomtel (Polsat Plus Group) form an integrated media, telecommunications and energy group controlled by Zygmunt Solorz. The company’s shares have been listed on the WSE since 2008; the company is included in the WIG20 index.
