This is currently the number one topic among interior ministers in the European Union. Competitiveness at the agenda

On the Global Commons stage, an important topic was to restore Europe to a competitive advantage. Experts talked about how the European Union can strengthen its economic position in an unstable international environment, without losing values such as freedom, security or sustainable development.

An important condition for growth is limitation of administrative barriers and simplification of legal provisionswhich is why one of the debates was devoted entirely to deregulation. As Ryszard Petru, chairman of the parliamentary deregulation committee, said: “It is time to go away from the perception of the work of parliamentarians as the production of subsequent laws. We need selection, ordering and transparent solutions.”

“Clean air” in a new setting

The topic of the “Clean Air” program returned in many discussions. A debate dedicated to its reconfiguration took place on the Climate Care stage. – The program is still highly bureaucratized and uneven regionally. Companies go bankrupt, waiting for payments. -Thermomodernization can give up to 70% of savings-said Joanna Remiszewska-Michalak, Public Affairs Manager Rockwool Polska. – first warming, then panels – this order makes sense.

SGH and the “Clean Air” Foundation

On the Business Connect stage, the Warsaw School of Economics and the Clean Air Foundation signed a cooperation agreement. This is another step in strengthening the relationship between the academic community and the practice of activities for sustainable development – with an emphasis on education, innovation and joint projects.

– I am very happy that the university, which is based on numbers, also cooperates with such “soft” topics as ecology and the environment – said Agata Śmiaja, president of the Clean Air Foundation, originator and organizer of Togetair.

Rector of the SGH, prof. Piotr Wachowiak, added: – I am convinced that only system solutions and cooperation will bring appropriate results. This is an example of good, partner cooperation.

The stage also discussed, among others About the packaging revolution. Experts and representatives of the industry analyzed changes resulting from the implementation of the deposit system and PPWR regulation. Magdalena Markiewicz, president of “Polka”, emphasized that The current shape of the Act excessively burden trade: – We urge for a fair bail system that does not transfer all responsibility to retailers.

In turn, Anna Larsson from Reloop indicated that all of Europe is struggling with a flood of packaging waste, and over 30% of them are not recyclable.

Anna Kozera-Szałkowska from Plasticseurope noted:-From the point of view of plastic producers, any system that allows you to collect waste is beneficial.

Local potential

On the Future Cooperation stage, one of the most important topics was Investments in regions and related challenges. – If we do not stop the depopulation of regions, we will not be able to effectively conduct investments there – alarmed Iwona Szmitkowska from Employers of the Republic of Poland. – We need micro -regional strategies adapted to the local needs and aspirations of the young generation.

The subject of modern mobility was also discussed in this space. – We should develop low -emission transport. As a producer, we are introducing a new range of vans – said Andrzej Gemra, an expert on Public Affairs and Renault Group electromobility.

– We revitalize the semi -trailers to make them lighter and more functional – emphasized Piotr Kamiński, a member of the supervisory board of Wielton.

-Zero-emission trucks are already available, but the market is not yet mentally ready-noted Paweł Kocoń, PR Manager Mercedes-Benz. – We need education and overthrow myths.
