Great tension was lived among the governments of the presidents Gustavo Petro and Donald Trump on behalf of the United States Migration Policies and the refusal of the Colombian Head of State to receive illegal migrants with “unworthy” conditions. The situation climbed to the point that the White House tenant announced hard sanctions, but finally reached an agreement and the crisis went down.

Petro’s decision and the way he acted has been questioned by different political and social voices, that have asked for more moderation when it is issues related to diplomacy. Francisco Barbosa, former general of the Nation, spoke about about this episode and launched an acid criticism of the first Colombian president.

“What happened yesterday is unfortunate in the midst of a relationship that has been built for 50 years (…) I have been the most insistent than it means having an unbalanced person in the Presidency of the Republic ”, pointed out.

In his strong questioning, the former official added: “This person (Petro) loses balance and rationality, and in a trill destabilizes the diplomatic relationship in this wayallowing Donald Trump that, after having caused him, insulted, he had told Haiti that he was a Nazi, enters this dynamic. ”

Barbosa said that in the Petro decision a “logical cooperation” was unknown and recalled that last year deportations had already been made in the same conditions, which was the aspect that unleashed the discomfort of the Colombian head of state. “You cannot fill an airplane with people without minimal safety conditions,” pointed out.

In that sense, the former prosecutor said that these same conditions occur in cases of other countries, in addition to being presented in other deportations that have been made of Colombians since the North American nation.

He also launched a warning about how this diplomatic crisis can bring greater consequences for Colombia in the future. “This does not end, what is coming is much more complicated,” said.

We depend on a new trino made by President Petro at any time and in the middle of a murky night he has, To end once and for all the diplomatic relationship and put Colombia on the international wall, which today we share with Venezuela, Nicaragua, Cuba, North Korea and Russia, ”he said.

Barbosa explained that the situation ended up turning Colombia into an “scapegoat” for Donald Trump and his mandate. “For this irresponsibility, we are in the hurricane of the international eye,” He pointed out.

Similarly, he made it clear that it is obvious that the tycoon was going to show a completely different attitude from what he had drove during his administration. “We put ourselves in an exemplary decision scenario for everyonethat if there is an aggression against the United States or an attitude that distrusts, that will be taken into account, ”he said.

“The situation for Colombia at this time does not end, the measures are suspended until there is an effective compliance by the government”warned.
