Construction of a gas terminal, its sea part, which will be built on the Gulf of Gdańsk, will start in 2025. FSRU unit (Floating Storage Regasification Unit), which is used to collect the supplied with sophisticated natural gas (LNG), its regasification and introduction to the national transmission system, will come to Gdańsk in 2027.
The most important Gaz-System investment
The construction of the FSRU terminal in the Gulf of Gdańsk is the most important investment currently implemented by Gaz-System. The FSRU terminal will be located in the southern part of the Gulf of Gdańsk. Bwill be located at a distance of approx. 3 km from the shoreline Sea in the immediate vicinity of the Baltic Hub container terminal and the water track leading to the Gdańsk port.
The FSRU floating unit will be fixed to the terminal quay, which is to arrive in 2027.
The FSRU ship is adapted to process storage of gas (LNG) received from methane. Received liquefied natural gas is then changed from liquid focus to gas. After changing the state of concentration, gas will be transmitted through a submarine gas pipeline, to the national transmission network.
The investment costs are estimated at PLN 4-5 billion. On the other hand, the terminal is to be commissioned at the turn of 2027 and 2028.
What do you need to build?
As part of the investment, about 3 km from the shoreline, N will be builtParking and stopping abrasions with the infrastructure necessary to operate the regasification unit. However, with the national transmission system, the new terminal will be connected underwater gas pipeline.
The gas pipeline network will also be expanded. In the investment frame 250 kilometers of land gas pipelines will be built on the route from Gdańsk to Gdańsk. The terminal’s annual capacity is to be over 6.1 billion cubic meters of gas.
This will be the second LNG terminal in Poland, which is to ensure increased supplies of natural gas for industry, as well as power and heating power and heating in the transparent period of decarbonization of the Polish economy.
