– We are glad that Krynica Forum, an inspiring place for exchanging knowledge and views, and at the same time important meetings and building relationships, lives and develops in full symbiosis with the city. In the past, it was difficult for us to reconcile the interests of the organizers and participants of the Forum, tourists and residents. Today, thanks to excellent cooperation with the Małopolska Province and mutual understanding of all needs, we succeed perfectly – emphasizes Piotr Ryba.

Krynica Zdrój is one of the places that suffered the most during the pandemic crisis and lockdowns. The cautious forecasts of experts at the time said that the recovery of tourism could take until the 2030s. It turned out that thanks to the efforts of entrepreneurs, local and provincial government officials, tourism activists, as well as government and EU support, the city returned to pre-pandemic results much faster, and today it already enjoys a much larger number of guests than a few years ago, which means breaking new records. – In 2019, we recorded 1.2 million overnight stays, and last year 1.5 million. This is a significant increase – comments the mayor of Krynica Zdrój. Importantly, tourists enjoy the assets of the spa and the surrounding nature all year round.

Piotr Ryba repeatedly emphasizes the great involvement of private capital in the difficult process of restoring the city to its former glory as a health resort and developing a whole host of new attractions that attract visitors from all over Poland and abroad. “In the next few years, entrepreneurs plan to spend a lot of money – about a billion zlotys – in Krynica Zdrój. This will include the construction of new hotels, an aqua park, this week the Polish Cable Railways handed over the peak of Góra Parkowa to the contractor for the construction of a beautiful new observation tower, we are still trying to build an artificially frozen toboggan and bobsleigh track accredited in Krynica Zdrój. Jaworzyna Krynicka intends to build more cable railways…” – enumerates Piotr Ryba.

He admits that this dynamic development – related to the growing popularity of the health resort – must be accompanied by the development of infrastructure. This concerns both the local infrastructure and the network of access roads to the Polish Davos and rail connections. A lot is also happening in this area or will happen in the coming years, which will further increase the attractiveness of Krynica Zdrój.

We encourage you to listen and watch the entire conversation.
