In 2003, a year before Poland joined the European Union, we were mainly importers of French products, and we exported little. The trade deficit with France was then almost 1.4 billion euros, and imports were half as large as exports.
Much has changed in two decades: Polish-French trade has increased many times over, and in 2023 Poland’s surplus in trade with France amounted to EUR 8.4 billion. At the same time, many Polish companies have developed significantly and are considering direct investments in France. Cooperation between Polish and French businesses is also tightening – on the Polish and French markets, and increasingly on a pan-European and global scale.
We talk with Joanna Jaroch-Pszeniczna about:
- about the prospects for the development of Polish-French trade, the most important products and services and the dynamics of change
- that Poland is no longer a country of cheap labour o in Polish-French cooperation the high competences of Polish specialists and managers as well as their creativity and innovativeness are becoming more and more important
- about Polish exports to France as a driving force of the economy, the role of the French market for Polish companies, but also the possibility of entering the French market and deepening trade cooperation
- about what to pay attention to when doing business with the French, how to prepare for entering the French market?
- about Polish capital expansion in France – the scale of Polish investments on the Seine and entry strategies; we advise who to seek advice and support from in this strategic area.
We strongly encourage you to watch and listen to the entire conversation.
