Order of the Minister of State Assets of May 9, 2024 regarding establishing a team for the separation of coal assets from companies with State Treasury participation in the energy sector was published in the Official Journal of the Minister of State Assets.
“The Team for the separation of coal assets from companies with State Treasury participation in the energy sector is established. (…) The Team is an auxiliary body of the Minister of State Assets. (…) The tasks of the Team include: 1) analysis of the conditions for the separation of coal assets from companies with State Treasury participation. energy sector; 2) cooperation with companies with State Treasury participation in the energy sector in developing assumptions, directions and methods of carrying out the separation; 3) developing recommendations regarding necessary or recommended legislative changes aimed at carrying out the separation; and the division of tasks between these entities,” we read in the order.
In accordance with the ordinance the team consists of: :
– chairman – secretary of state or undersecretary of state in the Ministry of State Assets indicated by the minister;
– deputy chairman – minister of industry or a person designated by him;
– other team members:
a) the government plenipotentiary for Strategic Energy Infrastructure or a person designated by him,
b) director of the Department of Fuel and Energy Companies or a person designated by him,
c) the director of the Economic Analysis Department or a person designated by him,
d) deputy director of the Department of Security and Crisis Management or a person designated by him, of the supervision department or designated by him,
f) the director of the Legal Department or a person designated by him,
g) an employee of the Department of Fuel and Energy Companies, who also serves as the secretary of the Team, mentioned.
The Chairman of the Team, on his own initiative or at the request of another team member, may invite non-members whose knowledge and experience may be useful to perform the team's tasks to participate in the team's work, in an advisory capacity.
