Poland is seeking a port in Odessa
The politician recently suggested that Poland buy or rent a port in Ukrainian Odessa. So to access the Black Sea, one of the key trade routes. – According to some, it is quite brave, but at the same time it is very real. We have the support of President Aleksander Kwasniewski, who says: There is not much to talk here, you have to do. We have to prepare everything, conduct appropriate meetings – reports Kołodziejczak, who took part in the 17th BBF organized by the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce.
Our interlocutor emphasizes that such meetings also occurred during this year’s BBF edition, and he himself is working on a specific proposal for the Polish government. – We have to answer a few more questions – whether, for example, this project should implement a private business or should it get involved in state -owned companies – explains the deputy minister of agriculture.
Business in Ukraine works despite the war
He claims that Polish enterprises are interested in this type of initiative. – Large Polish companies would like to have access to the Black Sea to send grain to foreign markets there – says Kołodziejczak.
Asked whether the Polish port in Odessa could only arise after the war, which broke out on a full scale in February 2022, cites Kwasniewski’s words. – This is a plan that could be implemented during the war, because unfortunately we do not know when it will end. As Aleksander Kwasniewski says – there is simply no chances for a lasting room at the moment. So only those who wish us badly can say that we will do something, if there is a room – emphasizes Deputy Minister Kołodziejczak. And he adds: business in Ukraine operates despite the duration of the conflict.
