Rescuers are trying to find the fourth one a miner trapped underground with whom they have no contact.

Mine disaster

The earthquake occurred on the night from Monday to Tuesday at around 3.30 at the level of 870 meters. It had a magnitude of 2.66 on the Richter scale. It was located approximately 40 meters from the face of the ancestor.

In the region Fifteen miners were at risk. Eleven managed to withdraw, and nine of them – in a stable, non-life-threatening condition – were transported to hospitals in Jaworzno, Katowice, Oświęcim, Sosnowiec and Tychy.

IN rescue operation Six teams of rescuers take part, including: from the Central Mining Rescue Station (CSRG) in Bytom.

In 2024 it was recorded three fatal accidents in hard coal mines in Poland: KWK Bobrek, KWK Mysłowice-Wesoła and KWK Borynia-Zofiówka-Bzie.
