Wind farm Baltica 2

The farm working with full power will provide as much electricity as average as an average of approx. 2.5 million households will need.

The farm will cover an area of about 190 sq km at the height of Łeba, with the nearest shore of the turbine about 40 km from it. Turbines made by Siemens-Gamesa And transformer stations will be connected with cables working under a voltage of 66 kV with a total length of about 170 km. Electricity will flow with 375 kV voltage with cables with a total length of 300 km to the Land Power Station near Choczew. From there, electricity will go to the national power system. Investors have received the right to cover a negative balance for 25 years, while the price of energy sold will not be higher than PLN 319.6 per MWH net, valorized by the inflation indicator.

One of the largest individual wind farms in the world

At the time of starting in 2027. Baltica 2 It will be one of the largest individual wind farms in the world. The Dogger Bank farm built in three stages in the North Sea should then have a power of 3.6 GW, and ultimately up to 5.6 GW. Comparable power – 1.5 GW have the already operating Dutch farms Hollandsee Kust Zuid and Borselle.

PGE and Orsted, which in the project have 50 percent Shares made final investment decisions (FID) with estimated expenditure of PLN 30 billion, divided between companies in half. The Polish company won a loan of up to PLN 3.9 billion from Polish KPO as a own contribution at BGK. The rest of his contribution – PLN 11.1 billion PGE will finance in the Project Finance formula thanks to a contract with a consortium of 25 financial institutions. As part of this part of financing, BGK granted a second loan from KPO to approx. PLN 1.6 billion and loans from its own balance sheet at approx. PLN 530 million. EUR 400 million loans were brought by the European Investment Bank. He had previously granted EUR 1.2 billion to Orsted for wind projects at sea, including PGE EIB.

Baltica 3 project

The second project of PGE and Orsted on the Polish Baltic is Baltica 3 – A farm that is to be created by 2030 and have a power of 1 GW.

The first phase of the development of Polish maritime wind energy provides for the construction of a farm with a capacity of 5.9 GW. Support in the form of the right to cover a negative balance by the manufacturer was awarded by individual administrative decisions of the President of the Energy Regulatory Office.

In the second phase of development, the support is to be granted through the auction. Auctions were scheduled for 2025, 2027, 2029 and 2031 and are to enable 4 GW, 4 GW, 2 GW and 2 GW installed power. (PAP)
