Poles were more willing to visit shopping centers in 2023? Inflation didn’t stop it

“In 2022, this indicator was lower and amounted to 10.3 people per 1 sq m of rentable area per month. This translated into a 4.6% increase in the average visit to shopping centers in 2023.” – noted the authors of the report.

They added that the index includes information from facilities with a total area of ​​over 4.5 million square meters, which constitutes over 33%. shopping center market in Poland.

As reported, in each of the months from January to November 2023, more customers used shopping centers than in the corresponding periods of 2022. Only in December there was a decrease – by 0.5% compared to December of the previous year. “This result was directly influenced by the lower number of trading days, of which there were 26 in December 2023, 2 less than in December 2022.” – stated in the report.

Managing director of the Polish Council of Shopping Centers Krzysztof Poznański informed that thanks to the use of camera systems, customer flows in facilities are analyzed with an accuracy of up to 98%. He added that in order to minimize the possibility of errors, cameras are also installed in additional places that are crucial for verifying traffic in a given facility.
