Prestigious university launches call for scholarships for Bogotá and Soacha

In the last few hours, it was learned that the prestigious Manuela Beltrán University launched an excellent call for scholarships that will benefit the students of Bogotá and the municipality of Soacha.

The institution issued a statement in which it reported that there are nearly 400 scholarships available for people who want to be part of the ‘Jóvenes E’ strategy.

“The Manuela Beltrán University (UMB) launched a call for young high school graduates from Bogotá and Soacha to access completely free higher education programs. With 393 scholarships available, this opportunity is part of the ‘Youth to E’ strategy, led by the District Agency for Higher Education, Science and Technology (Atenea),” the educational entity explained.

The university explained that beneficiaries will be able to choose between high-demand programs such as Biomedical Engineering, Nursing, Business Administration, Law and Respiratory Therapy. “The UMB offers the option of studying in person or virtually, adapting to the needs of the students,” they added.

Requirements to apply for these scholarships

The UMB indicated that there are a series of requirements that the applicant must meet to be able to aspire to one of the scholarships they are giving out, among them some stand out such as being a high school graduate from a school in Bogotá or Soacha or not having completed any higher education study.

1. Be a high school graduate from a school located in Bogotá or Soacha.

2. Have taken the Saber 11° or ICFES tests.

3. Be up to 28 years old at the closing of the call.

4. Not be currently enrolled in a university program.

5. Not having completed professional higher education studies

The University Foundation for Human Development, UNINPAHU, is another of the universities that has a scholarship program called ‘Let’s go to the U’. An initiative that seeks to support young people in search of the dream of accessing higher education.

“The VAMOS A LA U program was born within the framework of the 50 years of foundation, where with half a century of work training professionals, working hand in hand with an innovative, differentiated and pertinent academic offer to new dynamics such as multimedia engineering, “Digital and audiovisual narratives make this social projection program award 50 scholarships in technical and technological programs for their entire career,” UNINPAHU explained in a statement.

According to the university, these scholarships are awarded to communities that are categorized under special constitutional protection.

  • These are the communities benefited by the program
  • People in poverty SISBEN groups A, B and C up to level C5.
  • People belonging to an ethnic group: Black, Afro-Colombian, Raizal and Palenquera, Indigenous or Rrom population
  • Rural population
  • Migrant population
  • People with certified disabilities.
  • People who are victims of the armed conflict.
  • Trade recyclers undergoing job retraining.
  • Young people over 18 years of age who are or were under ICBF protection.
  • LGBTIQ+ people
  • Informal salesman in job conversion

According to UNINPAHU, students will receive financial support of up to 50% of the tuition fee, this benefit will be maintained throughout the academic program.
