Property tax – amendment
The National Council of Agricultural Chambers warns that tax burdens on farmers and manufacturing companies, including the broadly understood agri-food industry, will increase. Tax burdens on telecommunications infrastructure (networks), among others, will increase drastically – warn seven industry organizations in a joint letter. Owners of photovoltaic farms also have concerns. According to Andrzej Nentwig from Res Operations, their burdens may increase even a dozen or so times.
According to the Polish Chamber of Energy Storage and Electromobility, the amendment will be detrimental to the climate transformation and changes in the energy sector, even though – as the chamber emphasises – Poland has committed itself to such a transformation as part of its membership in the European Union.
Companies are sounding the alarm
Entrepreneurs are warning that they will start paying tax on: entire telecommunications lines, and even computer servers, power supply systems, as well as air conditioners, ventilation units, power generators, electrofilters, transformers, all types of tanks, silos, containers, and tent halls. They are afraid that entire production lines (trains), conveyors, and belts will be taxed.
Their concerns concern the draft amendment published in June this year, which assumes, among other things, changes to the act on local taxes and fees, including property tax. Business organizations are reporting their reservations en masse. They point out extreme pro-fiscalism and numerous inaccuracies. They emphasize that, contrary to the announcements of the Ministry of Finance, the taxation of entrepreneurs’ assets will drastically increase.
