Retail sales in Poland in January 2026

Retail seasonally adjusted in Poland increased by 6.6%. y/y in January 2026, reported by the EU statistical office Eurostat. This is the fifth highest result among all EU countries. On a monthly basis, retail sales in Poland increased by 1.6%. This is the fourth highest increase in the EU.

Retail sales in the EU

Across the European Union, retail sales increased by 2.3%. on an annual basis and by 0.1 percent mdm.

Eurostat also reported that seasonally adjusted retail sales in the euro area increased by 2%. on an annual basis, and on a monthly basis it decreased by 0.1%.

The market consensus for the euro zone assumed 1.7%. growth on an annual basis and 0.2 percent in monthly.

The biggest increases and decreases

Of the Member States for which data are available, the highest annual growth in total retail volume was recorded in Luxembourg (+24.7%), na Lithuania (+9.3%) and Estonia (+8.7%). Decreases were observed on Slovakia (-3.1%) and Slovenia (-1.5%).

However, on a monthly basis, the highest increase in the total value of retail trade was recorded in Estonia (+4.4%), na Latvia (+2.8%) and Portugal (+2%), and the largest decline was on Slovakia (-3.5%), v Slovenia (-1.9%) i Croatia (-1.3%).
