This Thursday, September 26, the second day of the most important meeting of the educational sector in the country takes place: the XI Leaders for Education Summit (CLE 2024), an event that brings together great and influential experts from Colombia and the world . The EAN University, in Bogotá, is the setting in which dozens of leaders will be sharing their knowledge, experience and vision about the future of education and the challenges it faces globally.
During this last day, CLE 2024 will have different scenarios such as conferences, discussions and workshops in which hundreds of attendees will be able to learn, interact and delve into fundamental axes such as technological integration, connectivity, changes in the sector, rural education, labor relations and skills necessary for the 21st century, among other topics. Among the figures that stand out the most on this second day of the eleventh summit are Natalia Jaramillo, director of Education at Microsoft for Colombia and South America; Javier Botero, senior higher education specialist for Latin America at the World Bank; Marcela Bautista, CAF Education specialist; Mónica Hernández, director of the Telefónica Movistar Colombia Foundation; rectors of several prestigious Colombian universities and leaders of important organizations in the country and the world.
Furthermore, in this busy agenda The Minister of National Education, Daniel Rojas, participated on the first day; the secretaries of Education of the main cities of the country, the rectors of prestigious universities, former ministers, international students, decision makers and representatives of different public and private entities, who expressed their proposals and reflections to chart the future of global education, ensuring that the next generations are prepared to lead in a world that is constantly evolving.
Some of the participants in this summit highlighted the importance of opening spaces for discussion about education, as CLE 2024 does. “It is a conversation that I like, because it tends to be a conversation about hope. And right now, when all the global conversations are basically various descriptions of the apocalypse or how we can’t do anything, it’s being able to say that there is something we can do and that we have global networks that can help us. “It’s what people need to hear,” said Adrián Cerezo, one of the invited experts.
For her part, Rosemary Rohde, another of the featured guests, pointed out that this scenario is essential to expand the conversation about changes in the educational system.
“I believe that change is necessary and we should not be afraid to break something and do it again. We have to change and I think that conferences like this leave that message that we can do something better. We can achieve this by working together and exchanging ideas. It is something urgent and we have to do it without fear, taking into account that we are accompanied and we can help each other,” said the co-founder of Astra Nova.
