Shopping that makes money. Poles are discovering a simple way to earn additional income from e-commerce

Luc Williams

From buying to earning

The mechanism is simpler than it might seem. Affiliate programs, i.e. systems in which the user receives a commission for recommending a product, are becoming more and more popular.

In practice it looks like this:

  • you recommend the product to friends, followers or readers,
  • someone buys through your link,
  • you receive a percentage of the order value.

This model has been operating on developed markets for years, and in Poland it is growing dynamically with the development of platforms such as WebePartners, which connect online stores with creators and publishers.

How much can you earn from this? Three real scenarios

How much you can earn depends mainly on the reach and engagement of your audience. But even on a small scale, the first concrete amounts appear.

Microinfluencer – the first money from the Internet

A person with an Instagram or TikTok profile (several thousand followers) who regularly recommends products can generate:

  • PLN 60-320 per month

This is often the first moment when the Internet begins to “give back” the time invested. With increasing ranges, the amounts quickly grow to several hundred or even over a thousand zlotys.

Blogger or creator – income that scales

In the case of people running blogs, rankings or shopping guides, the situation is even more interesting. One well-written article that lands on Google can generate:

  • PLN 75 – PLN 375 per month from one text

Sounds innocent, but:

  • 10 articles → approx. PLN 750 – 3,750
  • 20 articles → even PLN 1,500 – PLN 7,500 per month

It’s a model that works in the long term. Once content is created, it can earn money for many months or even years.

Business scale – when affiliation becomes the second pillar

The greatest opportunities appear with greater traffic – e.g. on blogs, portals or extensive social media profiles.

In this case, your monthly income may be:

  • 6,000 – even PLN 60,000

At this level, affiliation ceases to be an addition and begins to function as a full-fledged business model for the entire family.

Example from the market: how it works in practice

More and more online stores are actively developing sales through affiliation. One example is AlmaMed– a store specializing in equipment for beauty salons, medical salons and service salons.

The company uses a model of cooperation with internet creators and publishers, enabling them to earn money on product recommendations through affiliate networks. Thanks to this:

  • creators can monetize their content and purchases,
  • and the store reaches new customers without traditional advertising.

This is a model that works particularly well in specialized industries, where purchasing decisions are often based on recommendations and experience.

Why is this working now?

The reason is simple: Poles’ shopping habits have changed.

Today:

  • most purchasing decisions start on Google or social media,
  • there are TOO MANY products – so users are looking for opinions, rankings and recommendations,
  • trust in internet creators is growing.

As a result, it is the people who “suggest what to buy” that begin to participate in the division of a market worth billions of zlotys.

No investment, no warehouse, no risk

The biggest advantage of affiliation is the low entry threshold.

You don’t have to:

  • have your own product,
  • invest in goods,
  • deal with logistics or complaints.

Enough:

  • access to recipients (even small ones),
  • regularity,
  • and an appropriate cooperation model – most often through affiliate networks that handle the entire settlement process.

Maybe “Average Kowalski” too?

Until recently, making money on the Internet was associated with influencers or large companies. Today, this model is increasingly reaching “ordinary users”.

A person who:

  • runs a small profile,
  • writes a blog,
  • or just shares opinions,

can gradually build an additional source of income.

And although these are small amounts at the beginning, they are the ones that most often trigger the economies of scale.

A new direction for e-commerce

The development of affiliation shows one important change: e-commerce is no longer one-way. It’s not just stores that sell to customers anymore.

Increasingly:
→ users become intermediaries
→ content becomes a sales channel
→ and recommendations begin to have real financial value

In practice, this means one thing: the line between customer and seller begins to blur.

And everything indicates that this is only the beginning of this trend.
