On one of the Facebook groups, the offer per item is PLN 10. “You can easily find ads on other portals, where a bag of sand is sold for 20 or even 25 zlotys“ł” – we read. “GW” interlocutor Damian Zawrotniak, known on social media as +pandocieliwy+ told the newspaper that he “received information about a company that sold sand at PLN 15 per tonne before the flood, currently – PLN 15 for a ten-kilogram bag”.
Wroclaw offers free sandbags

The newspaper points out that the prices of dehumidifiers are also rising. “Damian Zawrotniak gave the example of a Climative construction dehumidifier. The store changed its price from PLN 1,599 to PLN 2,599 overnight, only to increase it by another PLN 300 within a few hours, to PLN 2,899,” we read.
UOKiK monitors violations of regulations in flood areas
The Office of Competition and Consumer Protection is monitoring whether the provisions of the Act on Competition and Consumer Protection are being violated in the flood-affected areas – reminds “GW”. The Office encourages all those who suspect the use of such practices in the flood-affected areas to contact them.
“Just one day after the announcement of the possibility of filing notifications, the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection received (…) 27 notifications regarding prices in flood areas,” the newspaper reported. They concerned price increases for dehumidifiers, power generators, bottled water, sand bags, galoshes and water filter bottles.”
“GW” also recalls that Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced on Wednesday that if necessary, the government will introduce official prices for some basic necessities. (PAP)
