The claim in Cartagena of Dumek Turbay to President Petro: “He cracked (…) My wife is distressed”

The mayor of Cartagena, Dumek Turbayhe spoke in De about the reality that the city lives today and the support they have had from the government of President Gustavo Petro.

The president stressed that, together with the Government, many projects have been realized, but everything could be better if they had the help of Petro’s executive.

In fact, he was sincere by revealing how his wife reacts every time he speaks of this type of issues that are related to the government. “She is distressed when they ask me this question that became forced,” commented.

Turbay was clear in warning that since the beginning of his mandate they have been completely alone, as happens in other regions of the country. “I respect Petro for the authorities that it is (…) But a little less than a year after leaving, the debt will be very large with Cartagena”He said.

“My claim is for a citizenship that largely chose and expects him a lot. What I can say is that the president, with the investment and with the accompaniment to Cartagena, at this point he cracked”He added.

For his part, Juliana Solano Char, governor in charge of Bolívar, explained that the dialogue with the Government has been very complex and practically became a “challenge.”

“We see that there are projects that are priority for the city and for the department (…) that are at suspensive points. If these projects are not carried out, there will be a historical debt in environmental and social matters“, said.

Solano reiterated that the most important projects that are planned from the current administration, need permits and procedures that are made from the Executive. Despite the obstacles, he said, they do the task to get everything to come forward.

“There we are pedaling our projects,” Indian.

To leave the way in which the Petro Executive is doing things, Turbay told two anecdotes he lived with officials. In the first, the protagonist is Gustavo Bolívar, director of the Department of Social Prosperity (DPS).

As he said, the former senator spent a few days ago in Cartagena and there he pointed out of being a “Immature political” For not asking for an appointment.

On another occasion, he spoke with Chancellor Laura Sarabia of a subject related to the arrival of foreigners in the city. Therefore, he traveled to Bogotá, but finally Sarabia “left him” and never attended him.

All this, added to other actions that arrive from the government, leaves, according to their vision, what is the objective that is currently. “To the final what the government wants is to choose a new progressive presidentbut how people’s affection earns if they haven’t done anything, ”he said.

“We as rulers already understood that the task touches us alone. So, if Gustavo Bolívar has been having great possibilities of doing a great task in Cartagena, but the only thing that occurs to me to tell me is immature (…) makes it clear that their goal is to leave a progressive government in 2026, ”he said.

The president concluded: “I think they will have it difficult because people do not swallow wholeand the only thing they can provide is the support for a type of policies like that they continue to have sustainability, but just as they go, they are not going well. ”
