China’s largest companies by revenue
Just five Chinese companies are on the list of entities with the highest annual revenues. What’s more, these are distant positions. The highest (40th) is occupied by those operating in the e-commerce sector Jingdong Mall with revenues of 154 billion dollars. The round level of 100 billion dollars was also reached by telecommunications China Mobile (47th position) and e-commerce titan Alibaba (53rd position). Interestingly, outside the first “hundred” there were, for example, Tencent Whether FoxconnIndustrial Internet.
The Chinese automotive giants have grown in strength in recent years, the “biggest” of which are SAIC Motor and specializing in the electric car segment BYD. Tesla is feeling this strongly, and is rapidly losing share (especially to the latter company) in the Chinese electric car market.
The very distant position of the mobile phone manufacturer may come as a surprise to Polish readers. Xiaomi (289th place) and its Chinese counterpart Google – Baidu (620th place).

The biggest powerhouse in terms of revenue generation is the popular US retailer Walmartwhose annual revenues amount to over USD 665 billion. Right behind it is Amazon (over $600 billion in revenue).
The top positions in the ranking are also occupied by the energy sector giants – Saudi Saudi Aramco and China’s Sinopec and PetroChina. Also high up are healthcare industry leaders UnitedHealth and CVS Health.
It may come as a surprise that the top ten is closed by a representative of a heavily criticized industry. Volkswagenwhich, despite the difficulties faced by manufacturers of internal combustion cars, generated over USD 350 billion in revenue in the last 12 months.
Walmart’s sales are also coming at a price. In just over a month, the company’s valuation has increased by more than 20 percent.
