Increase in company insolvencies in Poland

From the beginning of the year to the end of September the number of insolvent companies in Poland reached almost 4.5 thousand. – according to a report by Coface, a receivables insurer, described by “PB”. Compared to the same period a year earlier, it is 23% more.

The daily points out that many factors are responsible for such a large increase in the number of companies that have serious financial problems.

“Entrepreneurs are struggling primarily with high fuel and energy prices, high operating costs, as well as a limited number of orders for export. The economic condition of our trading partners, especially Germany, which is in recession, is also important for the Polish economy” – explains.

The most insolvent industries in Poland

The report shows that the specialist construction industry has major problems – as many as 60 percent of them are affected. insolvency.

The hardest hit were sole proprietorships specializing in renovation and general construction installations. Operating on local markets, they were unable to obtain orders of sufficient value and, on the other hand, generate sufficient amounts of money to continue their business activities.

Transport also faces serious problems. The share of companies from this sector in insolvencies is growing. At the end of 2022 it was 10 percent, after 2023 – 11.6 percent, and after three quarters of 2024 – 14.2 percent. – reports “Puls Biznesu”. (PAP)
