Polish Post inspections throughout the country
Throughout the country Polish Post conducts inspections and then reports the results to tax offices. The aim of these activities is to verify whether Poles' radio and television receivers are properly registered, operational and ready to receive the signal, and whether their owners regularly they pay a subscription fee.
In the first three months of this year, tax offices began debt enforcement based on 5,233 court decisions, based on which PLN 5.951 million was recovered. Throughout 2023, the amount recovered from debtors reached over PLN 22 million.
Severe consequences for non-payers
Failure to register the receiver and pay the subscription fee will result in severe consequences. The penalty is currently 30 times the monthly subscription rate, which translates into an amount exceeding PLN 800. People who ignore this obligation are forced to settle outstanding fees and may face enforcement proceedings.
It is worth noting that RTV subscription applies regardless of whether you actually use radio or television. Since the beginning of this year, the cost of an RTV subscription for a radio receiver is only PLN 8.70, the subscription fee for a ready-to-use TV or both receivers is PLN 27.30 per month. Moreover, by choosing to pay several months in advance, subscribers can save up to 10 percent of the fees.
