Excellent news came to Colombians and that is that the American States Organization (OAS), together with the Structuralia online postgraduate school, announced the creation of 1,000 scholarships for online master’s degrees in Colombia. This program aims to strengthen training in areas known as Stem (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), key careers for professional and technical development in key sectors of the country.
According to the information delivered by the entities, the available programs cover 81 postgraduate to digital transformation and intelligent infrastructure.
The head of the International Scholarships Program of Structuralia, Rocío Minor, indicated that the programs most requested by people are Artificial Intelligence & Big Data, BIM applied to civil engineering, energy efficiency and renewable energiesand Smart Cities management.
The OAS and the online Structuralia School also offer masters in the country, such as Bioconstruction and Ecoarquitectura, Robotic Systems and Automation, 3D Printing and energy technology for sustainable development.
These are the requirements to participate in the call
- Be a professional in engineering, architecture or related areas and demonstrate experience in one of these fields studied
- Have Colombian nationality or be permanent legal resident in the country
- Have the admission to the chosen master’s degree
- Not having received previous scholarships from the OAS
Rocío Meno explained that there are three types of selection criteria that will add points to be selected within the call.
The first selection criterion is the place of the person’s residence, where the most important needs of the OAS member states are taken into account, in accordance with the Human Development Index reported by the United Nations Development Program ( UNDP)
The second criterion is the merits and academic credentials And the last criterion is the profile and impact that could generate applying the knowledge you will acquire during the mastery.
The head of the International Scholarship Program of Structuralia explained that each postgraduate degree has a duration of one year and classes will start from March 18. Once the course ends, the graduates will receive a double degree with the Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM), classified as one of the best universities in Spain.
