The sky high price of butter

The price of butter has recently increased significantly on world markets, which is primarily the result of milk shortages, and this situation also affected Poland, it was emphasized.

Will RARS actions reduce the price of butter?

“The tender announced by the Government Agency of Strategic Reserves concerns sale of frozen butter in 25 kg blocks. In total, the Agency wants to sell approximately 1,000 tons of this product. The minimum selling price of butter is PLN 28.38/kg (excluding VAT). The offers related to the tender will be opened on December 19, 2024. The butter sold by RARS comes from the Agency’s food reserves. These reserves are created to maintain the continuity of supplies necessary for the functioning of the economy and to meet the basic needs of citizens. The intervention of RARS should contribute to the stabilization of butter prices on the market,” we read in the press release.

The RARS announcement states that the sale will be divided into tasks: Task No. 1: frozen butter in the amount of 497 tons – produced by the Mlekovita Dairy Cooperative; Task No. 2: frozen butter in the amount of 300 tons – produced by the Foreign Trade Company of Lacpol Dairy Cooperatives; Task no. 3: frozen butter in the amount of 200 tons – produced by Polmlek Grudziądz.

The offers will be opened on December 19, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the headquarters of the Government Agency of Strategic Reserves.
