Dario AmodeiCEO Anthropicwrote a lengthy blog post describing how he thinks generative AI will change the world. His artificial intelligence company is his vision to cure depression, end poverty and solve many of society’s ills. At the same time, Anthropic is trying to raise additional billions for investments, Quartz reports.
Artificial intelligence is intended to eliminate diseases
Amodei believes that artificial intelligence it has the transformative power to condense innovations – previously taking a century – to just five or ten years. In Amodei’s words, artificial intelligence can eliminate disease, lift billions of people out of poverty and usher in a “renaissance of liberal democracy and human rights,” of course, “if all goes well.”
The world is to be better thanks to AI
Our world, wrote Amodei, will be much better than today thanks to it AI. “I don’t know if this world is realistic, and even if it is, it will not be achieved without the enormous effort and struggle of many brave and dedicated people,” he wrote. “Everyone (including AI companies!) will need to do their part to prevent the risks and fully realize the benefits.”
Amodei, who left OpenAI and founded Anthropic with his sister Daniela, says he often thinks and discusses the dangers of artificial intelligence, but explained that he is not a “doomer” (fatalist) when it comes to the technology.
Billions of investments in AI
The company, which employs about 500 people, has already received billions in investments from giants such as Amazon and Google. Anthropic itself estimates that it will be worth between $30 billion and $40 billion after the next round of financing.
