“What happens to Venezuela and we keep quiet, can happen to us tomorrow”: Mayor Galán goes head-to-head against Petro

President Gustavo Petro and the mayor of Bogotá, Carlos Fernando Galán, were the protagonists of a spat on the social network X this weekend, due to the delicate situation in Venezuela caused by the Nicolás Maduro regime that stole the presidential elections which took place on July 28.

Through X, Mayor Galán sent a message to Petro in which he asked him to clarify if he was censuring his stance on the incidents that have involved the neighboring country and the lack of action by the government to “face a dictatorship.”

“It is not a good precedent to raise this issue, because then what could happen if there is a dispute in an election where a reliable system says there is a 2% advantage.
