The opposition leader María Corina Machado spoke about the difficult panorama in Venezuela after the theft of the elections by the dictator Nicolás Maduro.

We are facing a regime that is absolutely discoveredwhich is living an unprecedented situation because the economy and income of Venezuelans come in free fall, which is generating greater social tensions, ”he explained.

The political leader makes it clear that beyond the attacks of those who have been victims, they will continue in this struggle so that everything is normal again and Venezuelans can live freely and quietly.

We are going to build a wonderful nation to which my brothers can returnthat they have had to flee from Venezuela to save their lives or for the hunger and persecution of the regime, ”he said.

In that sense, he highlighted the importance of Colombia so that all this becomes a reality. For this reason, he referred to the Colombian case and, indirectly, President Gustavo Petro.

Machado emphasized the importance of taking as an example what has happened in his country so that this is not replicated. “I hope that Venezuelan experience serves as alertA about how easy it is to lose democracy and how difficult it is to reconquer freedom, ”he said.

“In Colombia they have institutions to defend and care, but they have something that in Venezuela was extinguished: freedom of expression. (…) We must take care of it and understand that what has happened in Venezuela can happen to anyone,” he added.

In fact, the opposition leader recalled: “20 years ago we said that Venezuela is not Cuba, that this is not going to happen to us, and look how we are.”

For this reason, he reiterated the need for this to be an alert and concern throughout the world, and that there is always an active participation by young people.

María Corina said that at the moment the struggle is being assumed by this population, especially for those who are more humble and that arrive in rural areas.

“Socialism has destroyed the quality of life, income, opportunities, the future and has separated families. If anyone knows that, they are young (…) You are going to see that the great strength in Colombia, which will come to defend your right to a future of prosperity and freedom, will be young people”He said.

Therefore, he reiterated that he has great confidence in young people and in the way they will defend their country, as will happen in Colombia, if it becomes necessary.

The leader sent a advice to Colombians: “Look for a Venezuelan and listen to him, If there is something that has been heartbreaking is the separation of the family and that was not by chance

Finally, the leader made it clear that until there is a real peace in Venezuela, the same will not be in nearby countries. “There may be no sustainable peace in Colombia as long as there is a criminal system that promotes the destabilization of that country in Venezuela,” he said.

“We are able to achieve our purpose today we also need them. (…) We ask you to raise your voice, this is the same fight. We have the same values and the same enemies and we will win, ”he added.
