A large Swedish brand closes a factory in Poland. Employees face layoffs

Business Cetes Cosmetics started its operations in Poland in 1991 as Oriflame Poland Sp. z o. o In 2012, the headquarters was moved from Ursus. And this plant is going into liquidation.

As Oriflame says in a statement The closure of the CETES plant in Ursus will take place gradually over the next two years.

In a statement quoted by dziennikoscikosmetyczne.pl, the company explains that production will be transferred to carefully selected European partnerswho specialize in production for prestigious cosmetic brands. However, the reason for the decision to relocate production is the need to respond faster to dynamically changing market trends and technology development. This action is intended to improve the quality of the products offered.

Oriflame had already made a similar move to relocate the production of luxury care formulas when it moved production from Sweden to France.

Employees to be fired

Of course, the Swedish company’s decision will affect the employees of the CETES factory in Warsaw. The entire crew will be dismissed from work. However, the company assures that everyone will be fired employees will receive appropriate support and a severance package that exceeds legal requirements.

Oriflame is not withdrawing from the Polish market

Despite the plant closure, Oriflame will continue to operate on the Polish market and still plans to sell its products. Oriflame sells its products in Poland in a direct sales system, through consultants.
