Icetex is an entity that promotes higher education in Colombia through the granting of educational credits, with its own resources or those of third parties. In short, it lends money so that people, especially young people, can study and prepare for the profession they want, which is why it has become a great option for those who do not have the necessary resources.
However, sometimes it can become a serious problem after the studies are completed and it is time to start paying the debt, since economic difficulties may prevent this from being done quickly. Therefore, for these people it is important that they receive support to achieve alternatives and relief.
The entity highlighted that another benefit that young people who have loans without interest subsidy and who manage to stay up to date will be able to access is that they go from paying rates of CPI+3% to CPI+2% during the current year. something that is granted thanks to good credit behavior.
“We listen to our beneficiaries and we want to know what effects they are going through. We organize the solutions day so that we can talk and the dream of being professionals is not cut short. This is why we at the entity make a great economic effort and forgive up to all of the interest due and late payments. so that students with difficulties catch up and continue with their studies,” said Mauricio Toro, president of Icetex.
The entity explained that on this new day payment alternatives will be provided for users who, due to any situation, are late in paying their credit and are in arrears of more than 31 days. Toro indicated that these beneficiaries should not currently have any payment agreement.

- Doing the process in experience centers throughout the country.

The opening hours of this new solutions day will be Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm and Saturdays from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm
Options to normalize credit
- Extinction: It consists of the payment of the total obligation.
- Standardization: Mechanism through which the beneficiary pays the entire overdue balance.
- Refinancing: Option with which the modification of the term and value of the initially agreed installment is achieved, in order to normalize the entire obligation.
In this way, Icetex seeks to support those people who have financial problems that make it difficult for them to keep up with their credits.
