Since March 1, 2020, people who have a secondary school diploma recognized in Germany, or from a German school abroad, They have the possibility to apply for a visa to travel to Germany in order to find a place for qualified training.
General requirements
To apply for this visa, applicants must submit a series of essential documents. First, it is necessary to complete and sign the Videx application form, available on the website of the German embassy in Colombia.
In addition, a recent biometric photo measuring 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm with a clear background must be provided.The applicant’s passport must be valid for at least six months. and at least three blank pages. A copy of your passport containing your personal details is also required.
The fee of 75.00 euros must be paid in cash in Colombian pesos, according to the exchange rate of the day at the Embassy.
Also A resume in German and a motivation letter in German are required, This should include an explanation of the applicant’s professional goals and plans for the future of their stay in Germany. In addition, the applicant must have private health insurance covering all countries in the Schengen area, with a minimum coverage of 30,000 euros for the entire stay.
For minors under 18 years of age, it is mandatory to attend the consular appointment accompanied by at least one person who has custody of the minor. If the other parent cannot attend, a notarized power of attorney with a German translation must be submitted.
The Videx application must also be signed by all persons who have custody of the minor. The apostilled birth certificate with a translation into German must be submitted, an exit permit signed by all persons with custody of the minor and an informal letter authenticated by a notary confirming the agreement for the minor’s travel.
Applicants with nationality other than Colombian must demonstrate that they have their habitual residence in Colombia.
They must also present the certificate of graduation from a German school abroad or from a recognized school in Germany, apostilled and translated into German, as well as document the preparations for the search for a training place, such as contacts with potential employers or invitations to job interviews.
It is essential to check knowledge of German, with a B2 level certificate or enrollment in a German course in Germany.
This amount can be verified by means of a blocked account, the official certificate of which must indicate the total amount deposited and the monthly amount available. Alternatively, a formal financial commitment can be submitted, in which a person undertakes to cover the applicant’s expenses, in accordance with articles 66 and 68 of the Permanence Act.
