The Colombian Institute of Educational Credit and Technical Studies abroad (Icetex), reported the launch of a new call for postgraduate scholarships in different countries of the continent, more specifically, in nations that are members of the Organization of American States (OAS).
The scholarships offered by the OAS are granted to citizens of the Member States They are interested in studying master’s degrees, doctoral studies and postgraduate research leading to a university degree. These studies can be carried out at a university that is accredited in the OAS member states.
People who are selected in these scholarships will be able to perform postgraduate courses in some countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico or Peru.
According to the information provided by the Icetex page, the scholarship can cover the following items.
- Registration and mandatory administrative fees.
- Health insurance (only for face -to -face studies).
- Complementary monthly subsistence contribution: (only for face -to -face studies). The monthly contribution is fixed. In case of benefiting with a scholarship, you will have to demonstrate that it has additional funds, before the OAS issues the scholarship contract, for its monthly subsistence.
- Air tickets: Air tickets will be granted according to the study that the OAS of each case performs.
- Annual stipend for books or materials
The entity also explained what are the requirements that aspiring to these scholarships must meet.
- Be Colombian by birth.
- Be over 20 years old and under 65 years of age.
- Have a university degree (It can be undergraduate or mastery) at the time of presenting his candidacy against Icetex.
- Have a Minimum average of 3.7 In his undergraduate notes.
- Demonstrate mastery of the language of the country and/or the program to be carried out.
- Count on Minimum year of professional experience in the area of the program you are going to do.
- Enjoy good physical and mental health.
The entity also reported that the number of scholarships is limited, so they are subject to availability that the OAS manages.
