In Karpacz about European funds and AI

Luc Williams

Among the debates devoted to the first of these threads will be the discussion “European Funds. How to effectively use the opportunity for rapid development?”. Poland, as a beneficiary of huge funds from the European Union, faces a great opportunity for dynamic development of infrastructure and economy. Almost EUR 134 billion that our country will receive from EU funds, including the National Reconstruction Plan (KPO) and cohesion funds, must be effectively distributed by 2026. The announced accumulation of public investments in the years 2025-2027 may make Poland the largest construction site in Europe. The panelists, including Małgorzata Jarosińska-Jedynak, member of the board of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, prof. Bartłomiej Nita from the Wrocław University of Economics, Andreas Schwarz from the European Anti-Fraud Office OLAF, Jacek Sutryk, Mayor of Wrocław, and Tadeusz Truskolaski, Mayor of Białystok, will speak out on how, in their opinion, these funds can best be used to bring long-term benefits to Polish women and men.

In turn, one of the discussions devoted to AI, “Who will shape public opinion in the future – artificial intelligence or opinion-forming media?”, will be led by Andrzej Bobiński, Managing Director of Polityka Insight. As we read in the introduction to the debate, the model that has been widely used so far, in which societies drew knowledge about world events exclusively from traditional media, will become a thing of the past. The use of artificial intelligence to generate content makes its use an easier and cheaper alternative to the work of journalists and editorial offices. Where will people get information in the coming years – still from widely known titles or from portals whose content is created by AI?

The following people will take part in the discussion on this topic: Ron Haviv, co-founder of VII Photo Agency from the United States, Tomasz Jażdżyński, vice-president of the board of Burda Media Polska, Mykhailo Katsyn, owner and host of Daily Europe Online from Ukraine, and Dr. hab. Jacek Wasilewski, head of research teams from the University of Warsaw.
