Pizzeria Zielona Górka from Pabianice became the best Neapolitan pizzeria in the world in the association’s ranking Avpn (l’ezociazione verace napoletana pizza) – owners of similar premises on all continents. The Union of producers of the traditional Neapolitan pizza currently associates around 11 00 premises from over 50 countries. They decide about the honorary title in voting.

“There are tens of thousands of pizzerias in the world and nearly 1,100 premises associated in AVPN. In my life I did not count on such a distinction. The success of the Polish pizzeria is even greater because the Pole won the plebiscite organized by the Association from Naples, which is the capital of pizza, and the Neapolitan pizza is inscribed on the list of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity UNESCO. Jędrzej Lewandowski is the second winner outside Naples. Last year, the title was pizzeria from Sao Paulo in Brazil.

Pizzeria Zielona Górka celebrates the 10th anniversary this year. Jędrzej Lewandowski, an architect by profession, gave up design for passion for pizza. Together with his wife, they opened a pizzeria. As he recalls, he made a pizza in a garage without a window for two years, looking at the wall, by trial and errors he sought his own recipe for an ideal Italian pizza.

Now he says that The risk was high, but it paid off. In addition to the title of the best pizzeria, he has already found himself three times in the annual ranking Top 50 pizza world. The next edition of the ranking is expected in the middle of this year.

“Success in the ranking gave us recognition, we have guests from all over Poland and abroad. There was recently an American from New York with us. He lived in Krakow, but he came to Pabianice twice by train to eat our pizza. That’s why I feel great responsibility for what We do, “Jędrzej Lewandowski told PAP.

He emphasizes that small companies such as his pizzeria are the basis of the functioning of the state. The gastronomy industry generates huge revenues, and therefore is also a source of substantial tax revenues to the budget.

“People realize their passions, and at the same time earn, pay taxes and give a job. I employ up to 20 people, mainly young people, but I support local business, earn my suppliers. This is how you have to look at every success of the Polish company in both the country and and abroad ” – added Lewandowski. (PAP)
