One of the most important interventions, during the almost six hours of the Council, was that of Vice President France Márquez, who questioned President Petro’s decision to appoint Armando Benedetti, as his office chief and, in addition, he was critical of the role assigned to Laura Sarabia, recently possessed as the Chancellor of the Republic.
Senator Carlos Fernado Motoa, of radical change, referred to what was said by Márquez and assured that she should not leave her position for the obvious discrepancies with government officials and President Petro, but for the very low execution of the Ministry of Equality that also leads.
“The vice president should not give up for her differences with government members, with the president, she should resign is for her lousy execution, it is the worst of any national government official, less than 3 % of a budget of 1.6 billion,” said.
Motoa also said that Márquez has turned the Ministry of Equality into a “bureaucratic fort.” “You have to say it openly, without euphemisms. The vice president has been strengthening in democracy, not in results to the vulnerable population of the country, ”she said.

In his speech, Márquez questioned corruption scandals in government. “That is part of my pains because I helped choose this government and today it hurts that in the government I helped and for which I spoke in the country, there are so many acts of corruption. Then he criticized Laura Sarabia and Armando Benedetti. “I tell you in front of the things that do not seem to me and the things I share in this government. And I don’t think Laura Sarabia’s attitudes with us and with me because I had to ask for respect. I am the vice president and I do not seem or share the decision to have Armando Benedetti here, ”France Márquez told Petro.
“I do not share your decision to bring these people to this government because we know they have much responsibility with what is happening here,” he reiterated.
