Laura Daniela Villamil suffered a serious accident last Saturday, August 17, in the middle of a presentation at Andrés Carne de Res Chía (Cundinamarca), which is undoubtedly one of the most important restaurants in Colombia.

“She was very sick on Tuesday and Wednesday. She has already been infected with three bacteria and her temperature is very bad, she has had a very high fever and it has been quite difficult to control it. Apart from that, her symptoms, her heart rate, vary a lot, it is too high,” he told this media.

The artist’s mother, Migdonia Leguizamón, She decided to break her silence this Friday, August 30, and spoke for the first time about the complex situation her daughter, who is only 28 years old, is currently facing.

“The truth is we have always said that there are many questions, but there are no answers. Why wasn’t there an ambulance at the event? Why were there no fire extinguishers? Why weren’t there people specialized in accidents? There weren’t any,” the patient’s mother stated.

Then he added: “My daughter is a great artist. I talk to her and tell her that all of this is going to be a bad time, but that we will forget. I pray a lot and I ask God a lot that my daughter gets out of all of this.” I know, as a mom, that we will come out victorious from all of this.”

It should be remembered that the Chía Mayor’s Office carried out an inspection at Andrés Carne de Res a few days ago and noted in the report that several faults were found, highlighting, above all, the lack of visibility of fire signs.

He also said that during the visit, deficiencies were found in four emergency doors, which do not currently meet the necessary technical requirements. This could represent a risk for the evacuation of diners in a critical situation.

Finally, he concluded: “Four emergency doors were identified in the restaurant that do not meet the necessary technical requirements. These doors pose a significant risk by not opening properly in an emergency, which compromises the safety of the occupants.”

The Chía Mayor’s Office ruled that the Ministry of Labor and the ARL are responsible for carrying out investigations into this accident, which left one person seriously injured, and reviewing whether Andrés Carnes de Res is complying with the labor standards required by law.

“The company’s management has been present at the hospital. From the first moment this unfortunate event occurred, all established security and care protocols were immediately and effectively activated, which allowed him to be transferred to a first-class medical center as quickly as possible.”the company said.
